2. Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy
Terms & Conditions
Contains information on the rights and responsibilities of both parties — the store and its customers — defining the online purchase process and the limits of the company’s legal liability.
Privacy Policy
If you collect personal data from your customers through your website (for example, via newsletter subscription or purchase registration), you must specify how that information is collected, used, shared, and protected.

3. Payment, Shipping Methods, Returns and Refunds
Payment
During the checkout process, all available payment methods must be clearly presented to the customer.
Shipping
Any shipping restrictions (e.g. geographic) must be clearly stated — both on the website and at the start of the checkout process.
Returns
The customer has 14 days to return a product or cancel the contract, without additional costs or the need to provide a reason. Exceptions include: personalised products, sealed goods not suitable for return, and products that deteriorate quickly or have a rapidly expiring shelf life.
Refunds
Must be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase, without detriment to the customer, within a maximum of 14 days. If a refund is requested via a different method, no additional costs need to be reimbursed.

4. Prices and Price Reductions
Before completing a purchase, the customer must be informed of all costs associated with the order: product price, taxes, shipping fees, and any other applicable charges.
In the case of price reductions, the following must be clearly communicated to the customer:
The type applied: sale, promotion, or clearance
Which products have a reduced price
The respective discount percentages
The start date and duration of the sale, promotion, or clearance
In Portugal, only the following types of price reductions are permitted:
Sale (Saldo)
Typically held at the end of a season, at a price lower than previously advertised, to clear remaining stock. Sales may take place at any time of year, provided their total duration does not exceed 4 months.
Promotion (Promoção)
Sales at a lower price or on advantageous terms, aimed at boosting the launch or clearance of products. Promotions may not run simultaneously with sales.
Clearance (Liquidação)
An accelerated sell-off of stock with price reductions on some or all products. Valid grounds include product discontinuation, business closure, and similar circumstances.

5. Invoicing
Software
The use of certified invoicing software is mandatory in order to issue fiscally valid invoices to customers.
Documents
Products sold online must be invoiced upon confirmation of the customer’s payment — as in any physical store. Ensure the dispatch of electronic invoices and, where necessary, the issuance of shipping documents.
International Transactions
If the volume of transactions with other countries exceeds €100,000 per year, this must be reported to the Bank of Portugal.

6. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that may store personal data of users visiting online stores. They are necessary for purposes such as counting daily visitors or enabling account login. However, it is essential to ensure that cookies store only strictly necessary data and that the user consents to their collection. To this end, the website must display a cookie notice and a consent button.

7. Personal Data Protection
When setting up an online store, you must protect the privacy of your users in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
Collect only the data strictly necessary for the provision of the service
Contact customers only where prior knowledge and consent exist (except where communication is an inherent part of the service)
Ensure that a customer can, at any time, amend their consent or delete their account
Strengthen data security to prevent unauthorised third-party access
In the event of a data breach, notify the customer and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours
These requirements are mandatory for companies that collect and process personal data of individuals within the European Union.

8. Consumer Disputes
Customers who shop online have the right to file complaints about products or services purchased — just as in any physical establishment. The online store must:
Display on the website a link to the Electronic Complaints Book platform (registration is mandatory)
Indicate on the website the list of Arbitration Courts that may mediate and arbitrate such cases
State on the invoice the applicable Alternative Dispute Resolution centre
